Do I make you….nevermind. Too easy.

Nardi Compatable Mazda Vintage horn buttonI wrapped up production on this little beauty over the weekend. I am super happy with the way it came out, considering I shouldn’t have even attempted it in the first place.

It’s a generic Nardi-compatable horn button. The button part is a non-branded piece of black plastic that has a convex shape to it. Laying epoxy on a convex dome? That’s like trying to pour a glass full of water with the glass upside down. But I didn’t let that stop me.

I cut four vinyl stickers to use as the base, thinking I’d probably ruin at least 3 of them before I got this right. I was only partially correct. I got the vinyl on the black dome perfectly on my second try.

If you have a horn button that can use a very custom touch, holler at me. This one is the only one in the world like it. You can have a unique, hand-crafted piece, too!

These have to be custom made and epoxied directly to the horn button. Most steering wheels don’t have a flat mounting area for the badge. So I have to really work with it to get it to look right. So, the short answer is “maybe”. :) I’m currently not taking any horn button orders because, frankly, I can’t charge enough to make it worthwhile.

Is that one for sale? :P I have an original Nardi wheel, and the button is looking pretty bad these days. I suppose I could always ship it out to you and get you to make me a new one. Let me know.

Unfortunately, I’m not doing horn buttons right now. I’ve done a couple and the process just isn’t really one that’s reliably repeatable. I would just as likely destroy the button in the process as I would get a nice looking result. So, until I figure out a better way to do them, I’m not doing them.
